The limits of the projects are SE 2 Avenue from SE 2 Street to SE 4 Street and Biscayne Boulevard from SE 3 Avenue to north of SE 2 Street.
The proposed work includes:
SR 5/SE 2 Avenue:
• Repaving and resurfacing the road
• Modifying traffic signals
• Relocating a lighting pole
• Modifying connection of I-95 ramp to accommodate a pedestrian refuge island
• Upgrading pedestrian curb ramps to current standards
• Installing pedestrian push buttons, high emphasis crosswalks, flashing beacons and curb ramps
• Adding signage and pavement markings
Biscayne Boulevard:
• Repaving and resurfacing the road
• Upgrading drainage to current standards
• Updating signage and pavement markings
• Adding a new bicycle lane and “Share the Road” pavement markings
• Replacing vehicle detectors at all intersections
• Replacing and relocating pedestrian signals at the intersections of SE 2 Street and Chopin Plaza to meet current standards
• Upgrading pedestrian curb ramps to current standards
