Location Name: Delray Beach Old School Square Gymnasium
Street Address: 51 North Swinton Avenue

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is inviting people around the state to provide input that will be used to udpate the Florida Transportation Plan (FTP) and the Strategic Intermodal System (SIS) Plan. As part of the updating process, FDOT will hold five Transportation Visioning Regional Forums.

Persons interested in attending the regional forums are encouraged to register in advanced at www.floridatransportationplan.com.

In addition to Delray Beach, forums will be held in Sebring, Tampa, Jacksonville and Fort Walton Beach.

The FTP and SIS are updated every five years. The Transportation Visioning Regional Forums provide an opportunity for the public, transportation and other partners to provide their thoughts about the state's transportation system of the future and to suggest bold ideas to achieve that future. Input is needed to identify and address transportation at all levels - statewide, regional and local.

The FTP defines Florida's future transportation vision and identifies goals, objectives and strategies to guide long term transportation decisions. The FTP addresses how our transportation system can meet the needs of a growing population, whilce helping make our economy globally competitive, our communities more livable and our environment more sustainable for future generations. It established the policy framework for expenditure of state and federal transportation funds through FDOT's work program. The FTP goals and objectives also provide guidance to all other transportation partners as they develop and implement future policies, plans and projects.

A key focus for the state is Florida's SIS, the statewide high-priority network of transportation facilities critical to Florida's economic competitiveness. The SIS Plan identifies policies for planning for the SIS and implementing the FTP.

Persons attending the forum in Delray Beach may park for free in the Old School Square garage. Entry to the garage is from NE 2nd Avenue. Parking also is available on the street and in other municipal lots. For persons taking Tri-Rail or other transit services, the Delray Beach Downtown Roundabout (trolley service) provides flag service along Atlantic Avenue.
