FDOT has cancelled the public information workshop for the County Road 707/South Beach Road Widening & Resurfacing Project.
 
Martin  County and The Town of Jupiter Island have requested that the delivery of this project be changed from FDOT to Martin County as a Local Agency Program (LAP) project. George Dzama will be the project manager for Martin County.
 
County staff will present a Resolution to the Board of County Commissioners in order to execute and deliver a LAP Agreement for the project to FDOT. A public workshop will be rescheduled by Martin County after the executive of the LAP Agreement.

Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is conducting this public hearing to discuss proposed improvements at the intersection of Forest Hill Boulevard and 16th Place South.
 
The proposed improvements include:
  • Installing a new traffic signal at the intersection of Forest Hill Boulevard and 16 Place South
  • Closing the existing median opening east of 16 Place South and extending the westbound median storage to provide a U-turn at the new signalized intersection
  • Upgrading the highway lighting system at the intersection
  • Installing Americans with Disabilities compliant ramps to sidewalk within the intersection
  • Upgrading the sidewalk and pavement markings
 
Construction of these improvements is tentatively scheduled to begin in summer 2019. The estimated cost of these improvements is $580,000. 
 
Public Hearing Agenda:
  • The hearing will open as an informal, open house at 6 p.m.
  • A formal presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m.
  • Public comment period will follow the presentation

Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is holding this Public Information Workshop to discuss design plans for improvements to State Road 80 (SR 80)/Southern Boulevard at the intersection of Forest Hill Boulevard.
 
The workshop will be conducted as an informal, open house. No formal presentation will be made. Staff will be available to discuss the proposed improvements and answer questions. Design plans and other project materials will be available for public review.
 
The proposed improvements include:
  • Adding a third westbound to southbound left turn lane from SR 80 to Forest Hill Boulevard
  • Widening the bridge over the C-51 Canal
  • Converting the northbound right turn lanes on Forest Hill Boulevard to one northbound lane and one free flow northbound right turn lane
  • Widening along SR 80 to include an eastbound acceleration lane from Forest Hill Boulevard 

Construction of these improvements is scheduled to begin in summer 2019 with anticipated completion in summer 2020. The estimated construction cost is $4.9 million.
