Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is holding this public hearing for the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study of SR 9/I-95 at PGA Boulevard/Central Boulevard. The public hearing will give interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the location, conceptual design, and social, economic and environmental effect of the proposed improvements.
 
The public hearing will start with an open house at 5:30 p.m. A formal presentation will begin at 6:00 p.m., followed by a comment period. Draft project documents will be available on the project website www.95PGACentralBlvd.com and on display at the public hearing. Draft documents will also be available for public review from September 7, 2016 to October 13, 2016 at the following locations:

Broward Blvd Bridge Replacement & Road Improvements Open House

Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and our project partners are holding this open house to discuss upcoming construction on Broward Boulevard between NW/SW 18th Avenue and US 1/Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale.
 
FDOT has awarded a $16 million contract to Munilla Construction Management, LLC (MCM) for these improvements. Construction is expected to begin October 7, 2016 with anticipated completion in summer 2018.
 
This open house will have an informal format. No formal presentation will be made. Project plans will be on display and staff will be available to discuss the construction, answer questions and address individual concerns.
 
The improvements that will be made in this project include:
  • Replacing the Broward Blvd. bridge over the North Fork of the New River
  • Widening the roadway within the existing right of way to add bike lanes in each direction
  • Removing old asphalt and resurfacing the roadway
  • Reconstructing sidewalk and upgrading crosswalk ramps to meet ADA requirements
  • Upgrading roadway signs and pavement markings
  • Relocating bus shelters
  • Adding roadway lighting
  • Installing drainage structures
  • Upgrading existing traffic signals to mast arms

During construction

  • Access to businesses, residences and schools will be maintained at all times
  • Single lane closures are anticipated Mondays through Fridays between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
  • Double lane closures are anticipated Mondays through Fridays between 12:30 a.m. and 6 a.m.
  • Lane closures may occur on weekends, except during special events

County Road 510 PD&E Study Alternative Public Workshop

Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will conduct an Alternatives Public Workshop regarding the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study of County Road (CR) 510 from CR 512 to 58th Avenue in Indian River County Florida.
 
The purpose of this PD&E Study is to evaluate preliminary engineering and environmentally feasible solutions, such as widening CR 510 from two to four lanes, in order to address the future capacity, operations and safety needs of the roadway.
 
The Workshop will be conducted as an informal open house starting at 5:30 p.m. with a formal presentation starting at 6:00 PM. Drawings and other pertinent information will be available for public review and project representatives will be available to discuss the project and answer questions throughout the Workshop.

State Road A1A/Peter Cobb Memorial Bridge Public Information Open House

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is holding this Public Information Open House to discuss the proposed repair/rehabilitation project for the State Road A1A/Peter P. Cobb Memorial Bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway in Fort Pierce.
 
The project includes:
  • Replacing the existing observation walkways
  • Installing scour countermeasures along the channel bottom under the bridge
  • Making repairs to deteriorated concrete on the bridge pier columns
 
Construction is scheduled to begin in June 2017 with anticipated completion in June 2019. The estimated construction cost of these repairs is $5.3 million.
 
The workshop will have an informal open house format. Nor formal presentation will be made. Project plans and diagrams will be on display and staff will be available to discuss the project, answer questions and address individual concerns.

Safety is Golden Mobility Fair

Indoors, local and state mobility and transportation experts will be on hand to share resources with older drivers on topics ranging from the impacts of aging on driving, how to be proactive about future mobility needs, and safe alternatives to driving.
 
Outdoors, a CarFit event will be taking place to allow drivers to find the perfect fit with their automobiles. 
 
This fun and free event will have much to offer so join us for resources, raffle items, and great information for drivers, families, and caregivers.
