Public Information Workshop: Seminole Dr L-16 Canal Bridge Replacement

Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is holding this Public Information Workshop to discuss the proposed replacement of the Seminole Drive Bridge over the Lake Worth Drainage District L-16 Canal in Lake Worth. 
 
This workshop will have an informal, open house format. No formal presentation will be made. Design plans and other project information will be on display. Staff will be available to discuss the project, answer questions and address individual concerns.
 
The proposed improvements include:
  • Demolishing and removing the existing bridge
  • Constructing a new bridge with two 12-foot-wide lanes, 5-foot-wide shoulder/bike lanes and 6-foot-wide sidewalks on both sides of the roadway
  • Replacing guardrails
  • Reconstructing the roadway at the bridge approaches
NOTE: The bridge will be closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic during construction with a detour provided.
 
Construction is expected to begin in Fall 2019 with anticipated completion in Fall 2020. The estimated construction cost is $1.04 million.
 
This project is a partnership between FDOT and the Palm Beach Transportation Planning Agency (TPA). The TPA is an independent government agency that provides long-rang and short-term transportation planning and State and Federal funding allocations for projects of all transportation modes in Palm Beach County.

The Florida Department of Transportation, Indian River County, Indian River County MPO, City of Sebastian, City of Fellsmere, Indian River County Bike Walk and Vero Cycling invite you to join us for the Grand Opening & Dedication Ceremony for the Trans-Florida Central Railroad Greenway Pedestrian Overpass.
 
Limited paved parking is available at the Fellsmere Trailhead Preserve, with overflow parking in the grass. Attendees are encouraged to carpool.
 
Bicyclists should park at the North County Regional Park (at 9450 Fellsmere Road, Sebastian FL 32958) and ride the 2-mile trail to the ceremony.
 
Attendees are encouraged to wear outdoor-friendly attire and walk/bike the new trail!
 
This event will be held rain or shine.

Design Public Workshop:Swinton Ave Improvements (SE/SW 10 St to NE/NW 4 St)

Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is holding this design public information workshop to discuss proposed mobility improvements on Swinton Avenue from SE/SW 10 Street to NE/NW 4 Street in Delray Beach.
 
The workshop will have an informal, open house format. No formal presentation will be made. Project plans and diagrams will be on display. Staff will be available to discuss the proposed improvements and answer questions.
 
The proposed improvements include:
  • Widening Swinton Avenue to provide five-foot-wide bike lanes
  • Adding shared-lane pavement markings from South 2 Street to North 2 Street
  • Connecting gaps in sidewalks
  • Relocating mailboxes and removing trees to accommodate the proposed improvements
  • Improving drainage
 
Construction of these improvements is scheduled to begin in Spring 2020 with anticipated completion in Spring 2021. The estimated cost of these improvements is $2.1 million.
 
This project was prioritized and funded in part by the Palm Beach Transportation Planning Agency (TPA).The TPA seeks to establish a safe, efficient and connected multimodal transportation system and is investing over $300 million in the next five years to improve safety and access for pedestrians, bicyclists, public transit and motor vehicles.

Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is conducting this Alternative Public Workshop #2 for the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study for the SW 10th Street Connector in Broward County.
 
The purpose of the PD&E Study is to increase capacity and address existing operational and safety deficiencies along State Road 869/SW 10th Street between Florida's Turnpike/Sawgrass Expressway and I-95/State Road 9, while also providing improved connectivity of the regional transportation network.
 
The purpose of this workshop is to give interested persons an opportunity to comment and provide input on the refined transportation improvement alternatives for the SW 10th Street Connector the FDOT has developed since the first Alternatives  Public Workshop held on April 24, 2018.
  
The workshop will have an open house format and staff will be available to answer questions. There will also be a formal presentation every half hour. New alternatives developed and alternatives previously displayed at the April 24, 2018 Alternatives Public Workshop for the I-95/State Road 9 from SW 10th Street to Hillsboro Boulevard PD&E Study (#436964-1-22-01) will be presented..
 
The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by FDOT pursuant to 23 U.S. C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 14, 2016, and executed by Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and FDOT.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is holding this Public Hearing & Webinar to discuss the Draft Tentative Five Year Work Program for all FDOT projects planned for Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River Counties in Fiscal Years 2019/2020 through 2023/2024.
 
This public hearing is being conducted pursuant to Section 339.135(4)(c), Florida Statutes, as amended.
 
The hearing will begin at 6:30 pm with a presentation explaining the FDOT’s work program process followed by a presentation of the Draft Tentative Work Program of projects to occur between July 1, 2019 and June 30, 2024 in Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, St Lucie, and Indian River counties. This public hearing also will include consideration of proposed projects for the Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise System, as applicable.
