Purpose:
The Florida Department of transportation (FDOT) is holding a Kick-Off Meeting to inform the public of the start of a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study for State Road 9/I-95 from south of 45th Street to north of 45th Street in West Palm Beach.
 
The PD&E Study is FDOT's process to evaluate the social, economic and environmental impacts associated with a planned transportation improvement project.
 
The purpose of this project is to reduce congestion and enhance safety at the I-95/45th Street interchange within the project limits.
 
Agenda:
  • The meeting will begin as an open house at 5:30 p.m. Project staff will be available to discuss the project, answer questions and receive comments
  • A formal presentation will begin at 6 p.m.
  • Public comment period

A PD&E Study is FDOT's process to evaluate the social, economic and environmental impacts associated with a planned transportation improvement project.
 
The purpose of this PD&E Study is to evaluate bridge replacement alternatives that will resolve the structurally deficient conditions of the existing bridge and enhance multimodal mobility.
 
The purpose of this meeting is to give interested persons the opportunity to comment on the alternatives the Department has developed at this point in the study.

  • The workshop will begin as an open house at 5:30 p.m. Plans will be on display and staff will be available to discuss the proposed alternatives and answer questions 
  • A formal presentation will be made at 6 p.m.

Safety is Golden Mobility Fair

The Florida Department of Transportation with the Volen Center and the Safe Mobility for Life Coalition are celebrating Older Driver Safety Awareness Week on Tuesday, December 6 at the East Boca Raton/Palmetto Park Rd. location with a Safety is Golden Mobility Fair.
 
Indoors, local and state mobility and transportation experts will be on hand to share resources with older drivers on topics ranging from the impacts of aging on driving, how to be proactive about future mobility needs, and safe alternatives to driving.
 
Outdoors, a CarFit event will be taking place to allow drivers to find the perfect fit with their automobiles. 
 
This fun and free event will have much to offer so join us for resources, raffle items, and great information for drivers, families, and caregivers.
