Proposed Closure of the Main Street (SR-5) Bridge On-Ramp
District: Two

Date: Thursday, September 25, 2014
Time: 4:30 pm to N/A
Location Name: Hyatt Regency Jacksonville-Riverfront
Street Address: 225 East Coastline Drive
City: Jacksonville, FL 32202
Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation invites you to attend a public hearing to  discuss the proposed closure of the on-ramp from Independent Drive to the Main Street (SR-5) Bridge in Jacksonville, Florida.  The proposed ramp closure is being requested by the City of Jacksonville and is consistent with their plans for the redevelopment of the Jacksonville Landing.

For this reason, southbound access to the Main Street Bridge is being studied to determine if the two existing southbound access points can be modified to a single access point.  Currently, southbound bridge traffic can cross the bridge by entering from eastbound Independent Drive or from southbound Main Street.  The proposed  improvements recommend closing the     Independent Drive ramp  to the Main Street Bridge.
