FDOT hosts public meeting to talk about SR 46 improvements

Purpose:
Seminole County - The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will have a public meeting about widening State Road (SR) 46 from two lanes to four lanes, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, February 11, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Rural Heritage Center (a.k.a., Historic Geneva School House), 101 East Main Street, Geneva.
 
The project’s limits are SR 46 from SR 415 (Lake Mary Boulevard) to east of Lake Proctor Court.
 
Other preliminary design concepts to be presented include:
·         Eastbound and westbound left turn lanes at Cochran Road
·         Westbound left turn lane at Woodridge Drive
·         Eastbound pavement taper at Richmond Avenue.
·         Bicycle lanes
·         Signal upgrades at County Road (CR) 426
·         Signing and pavement marking upgrades
 
The meeting is an open house beginning at 5:00 p.m. Staff members will be available to discuss the project and answer questions. A brief looping presentation and other project information will be available throughout the evening.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will conduct a public hearing for the Clearlake Road Project Development and Environment Study. We will present the recommended design alternative to widen Clearlake Road (State Road 501) from a two-lane roadway to a four-lane roadway. This hearing is being conducted to give interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the location, conceptual design, and social, economic, and environmental effects of the proposed improvements.
 
The hearing will be Thursday, February 25, 2016 at the Eastern Florida State College – Community Dining Room, Building 11, Room 129, at 1519 Clearlake Road, Cocoa, FL 32922. It will begin as an open house at 5:00 p.m. with a formal presentation at 5:30 p.m., followed by a public comment period.

Brevard County - The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will have a public meeting to present alternatives considered for the Courtenay Parkway corridor planning and concept development study along State Road (SR) 3 (Courtenay Parkway) from Fortenberry Road to Grant Road/Smith Road, in Brevard County.

The purpose of the study is to open discussion about the corridor’s growth and its future use. The planning study involves potential corridor improvement concepts and strategies to support a multimodal approach to providing for future transportation needs.
