I-4 Ultimate SBE Open House

Time: 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Location Name: Sanborn Activity Center- Ballroom B
Street Address: 815 S. Alabama Avenue
City: DeLand
Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is holding a Small Business Enterprise (SBE) Open House for work on the I-4 Ultimate project.

A whole new Interstate 4 (I-4) is coming to Central Florida. Often called the backbone of our transportation system; I-4 will be completely transformed along the 21 miles that stretch from Kirkman Rd to State Road 434.

As we work to build a better I-4, get ready for four new Express Lanes, reconstructed interchanges, completely rebuilt bridges, and an exciting new look and feel!
FDOT considers a small business as:
A business with a size limit of $15.0 million maximum for construction and maintenance firms and $6.5 million maximum for professional services firms.
A business determines their size by averaging their annual gross receipts over the last three years. If their average gross receipts are under the size standard, the business would be considered a small business.

I-4 Ultimate Project Schedules Public Information Open House
District: Five
Meeting Type: Meeting
Date: Thursday, May 28, 2015
Time: 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Location Name: RDV Sportsplex – Magic Gym
Street Address: 8701 Maitland Summit Boulevard
City: Maitland
Purpose:
ORLANDO — The public is invited to learn more about the I-4 Ultimate project during a public information open house, and how the project is transforming Altamonte Springs, Longwood and Maitland, as well as the entire 21-mile corridor. The open house is scheduled Thursday, May 28, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the RDV Sportsplex – Magic Gym, located at 8701 Maitland Summit Boulevard.

The project officially launched in February 2015 and expected completion is 2021. The I-4 Ultimate project is rebuilding 21 miles of Interstate 4 from Kirkman Road in Orange County to SR 434 in Seminole County, adding two new dynamically tolled Express Lanes—eastbound and westbound, replacing more than 140 bridges, reconfiguring 15 major interchanges and reconstructing the entire existing roadway.

Major changes planned for the northern end of the project include: elevating Maitland Boulevard over several side streets; constructing the Maitland Boulevard pedestrian bridge; reconfiguring the State Road (SR) 436 interchange to a single-point diamond interchange; and constructing a new pedestrian tunnel at SR 436.

As construction activities begin to accelerate, drivers should expect to see temporary roadways, bridges and ramps, and continued traffic pattern changes and shifts. Lane closures will be limited to mostly nighttime hours, beginning as early as 8:30 p.m. and continuing as late as 7 a.m. Work may also require ramp closures for extended periods.

Additional project information, including an up-to-date list of lane and ramp closures, are posted on I4Ultimate.com. Motorists are encouraged to sign up for project newsletters and route-specific alerts through the website to help make informed decisions about when and where to travel.

Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability or family status.  Persons who require special accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act or persons who require translation services (free of charge) should contact Jennifer Smith, FDOT Title VI Coordinator by phone at (386) 943-5367, or via email at jennifer.smith2@dot.state.fl.us.
