S.R. 405 SIS Connector Intersection Design Project Public Hearing

Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is hosting a public hearing regarding the design of proposed intersection improvements on State Road (S.R.) 405/Columbia Boulevard at S.R. 50/Cheney Highway, Barna Avenue and Grissom Parkway in Titusville, Brevard County.
 
The department is designing this project to improve traffic operations by adding and extending turn lanes. The project also includes drainage, access management and traffic signal improvements. The project is funded for construction in Fiscal Year 2020, and no additional right of way will be required. 
 
The public hearing will be held on Tuesday, May 1 at the Elks Lodge, 2955 Columbia Boulevard, Titusville, FL 32780. The purpose of this public hearing is to receive public input and to gain ideas from the local community about the proposed improvements. FDOT staff will be available to discuss the plans and answer questions. The hearing will begin as an open house at 5:30 p.m. with a formal presentation at 6 p.m., followed by a public comment period. A court reporter will prepare a verbatim transcript of the proceedings.

The Florida Department of Transportation is hosting a public information meeting regarding the resurfacing project for State Road (S.R.) 19/South Bay Street from Norton Avenue to Lake Saunders Drive. The project also includes safety improvements for the S.R. 19 on-ramp from eastbound U.S. 441 as well as an improved roadway transition to County Road 19A, feasible pedestrian and bicycle accommodations, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) enhancements.
 
The public information meeting will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, at the Eustis Community Center, 601 Northshore Drive, Eustis, FL 32726. Project information will be on display, and there will be a presentation on a continuous loop running throughout the meeting. Project representatives will be available to answer questions.

State Road (S.R.) 500/U.S. 441 Design Plans Update Hearing

Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation is holding a public hearing for the State Road (S.R.) 500/U.S. 441 design plans update, from Lake Ella Road to Avenida Central (at Griffin Avenue), which is approximately 4.2 miles in length. Final design plans for this project were completed in 2007 and right-of-way acquisition followed.
 
Now that construction funding has become available, these design plans are being updated. The proposed improvements for this section of S.R. 500/U.S. 441 include widening from four to six travel lanes along with the addition of bicycle lanes and sidewalks. The existing bridges over C.R. 25 will be removed and replaced with an at-grade intersection. Other project features include: signing and lighting, access management updates, aesthetics, and a plan for maintenance of traffic during construction. Construction is funded for this project and is estimated to begin in early spring of 2020.
 
The hearing will be held on Thursday, May 17, at Lady Lake Town Hall – Commission Chambers located at 409 Fennell Boulevard, Lady Lake, Florida 32159. The purpose of this hearing is to present information and to receive public input regarding the proposed design updates, including access management changes. Access management is the careful planning of the location, design, and operation of driveways, median openings, interchanges, and street connections. The hearing will begin with an open house from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. A presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be followed by a formal public comment period. Throughout the hearing, FDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project, answer questions, and receive comments.
 
A court reporter also will be present, and participants may provide their comments directly to the court reporter at any time during the public hearing.
