Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a public hearing regarding plans for improvements along S.R. 527 (Orange Avenue) between the southbound bifurcation (where S.R. 527 splits into one-way pairs, just south of Lake Conway Drive) to north of Grant Street, in Orlando.
 
The hearing is on Tuesday, February 20, at the Beardall Senior Center, 800 South Delaney Avenue, Orlando, FL 32801. It will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., with a presentation at 6 p.m. 
 
The purpose of this public hearing is to receive public input from the local community about the proposed milling and resurfacing improvements on S.R. 527 (Orange Avenue) between the southbound bifurcation to north of Grant Street and minor median and access management improvements north of Pineloch Avenue. FDOT staff will be available to answer questions. A certified court reporter will also be present to collect and document comments for the project record.

Wekiva Parkway Section 7A Construction Public Meeting

Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is holding a pre-construction public information meeting regarding the Wekiva Parkway Section 7A Project in Seminole County. The public meeting is being held to review the construction plans and schedule.
 
This project involves construction of 3.5 miles of limited access toll road along the existing State Road (S.R.) 46 corridor from a half mile east of Wekiva Park Drive to Orange Boulevard. The project also includes parallel, non-tolled, one-lane frontage roads for local travel. Roundabouts are planned as safety enhancements at the intersections under the parkway. Lighting is planned under the bridges and on frontage road approaches to the roundabouts. Work is scheduled to begin in February - March.
 
The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 22, 2018, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Lakeside Fellowship United Methodist Church, at their new location on 121 N. Henderson Lane, Sanford, FL 32771. The meeting is an informal open house where plans will be available for review and project staff will be available to address questions.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a Truck Parking Stakeholder Meeting for the FDOT District Five Truck Parking Study. The study purpose is to address the shortage of available truck parking spaces, identify solutions that will support truck drivers and plan for the anticipated need over the next 10 to 20 years.

The Stakeholder Meeting is next Friday, Feb. 23 from 10 a.m. – 12 noon at the FDOT Urban Office located at 133 S. Semoran Boulevard, Orlando, FL 32807. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in group discussion and provide input following the presentation of existing truck parking conditions and preliminary study findings.

Public Input Opportunity for Malabar Road (S.R. 514) Proposed Improvements

Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a public hearing for the Malabar Road (State Road (S.R.) 514) Project Development and Environment (PD&E) study from Babcock Street to U.S. 1 in Brevard County on Wednesday, Feb. 28 beginning at 5 p.m. at the City of Palm Bay Council Chambers. The meeting will be an open house format until a presentation at 6 p.m., followed by public comments.
 
FDOT will present the recommended build alternative to widen Malabar Road from Babcock Street to U.S. 1 from a two-lane roadway to a four-lane roadway where warranted. The project will also change the Access Classification of Malabar Road from Class 3, which does not prevent turns for traffic traveling in opposite directions, to Class 5, which prevents turns across the median of a divided highway. Chapter 335.199, Florida Statutes, requires a public hearing to present the proposed access classification change when any project on the state highway system closes or modifies an existing access.
 
The hearing is being conducted to give interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the location, conceptual design, social, economic, and environmental effects of the proposed improvements. Persons wishing to submit written statements, in place of or in addition to oral statements, may do so at the hearing or by sending them to Lorena Cucek, FDOT District Five MS 501, 719 S. Public Hearing on U.S. 27 at County Road (C.R.) 464B Improvements

Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a public hearing regarding plans to improve safety in the area of U.S. 27 at the intersection of County Road (C.R.) 464B.
 
The project addresses operational and safety concerns in the area by converting the full median opening to a bi-directional median opening. Northbound and southbound left turns from U.S. 27 will still be permitted, but the C.R. 464B intersection with U.S. 27 will be converted to right turn only.
 
The public hearing will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 8 at the Fellowship Baptist Church, 10500 U.S. 27, Ocala, FL 34482. There will be an open house at 5 p.m. during which staff will be available to discuss the project and answer questions, followed by the formal hearing presentation at 6 p.m., after which participants may provide their verbal comments to all present.
 
Participants may provide verbal comments directly to a court reporter before and after the formal presentation. Written comments can be submitted at the hearing, sent by mail to Dave Mixon, Florida Department of Transportation, District Five Traffic Operations, 719 S. Rinehart Road and C.R. 46A Intersection Improvements

Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is holding a public information meeting about proposed
improvements at Rinehart Road and County Road (C.R.) 46A in Seminole County.
 
This is an interim project of the I-4 Beyond the Ultimate, which will help traffic flow more smoothly and safely in the area near the Interstate 4 (I-4) and C.R. 46A interchange.
 
The project seeks to improve operations by eliminating all left turns across oncoming traffic at the C.R. 46A and Rinehart Road intersection. Instead, motorists will use new signalized “mid-block U-turns” on Rinehart Road,
located about 500 feet north and south of the C.R. 46A intersection.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 8, at the Orlando Marriott Lake Mary, located at 1501 International Pkwy, Lake Mary, FL 32746. The meeting begins at 5 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m.

Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions regarding the construction and view a video
about the project.
