Open House for I-75 Widening Project

Sumter County –  The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 5, is holding an informational open house regarding plans to widen Interstate 75 (I-75) from north of the Hernando County line to south of County Road (CR) 470 in Sumter County.

The design-build project improves safety and capacity on I-75 by widening the road from four (4) lanes to six (6) lanes, fully reconstructing the interchange at exit 314 (State Road 48) and updating the ramps, including milling and resurfacing, at exit 309 (CR 476B/CR 673). Other upgrades include Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), drainage, guardrail, signing and pavement markings, signalization and other miscellaneous structures. The project cost is $76.9 million. It is scheduled to begin fall 2014 and is estimated to finish in winter 2016.

The public meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Lake Panasoffkee Recreation Park, East Wing Meeting Room, located at 1589 CR 459, Lake Panasoffkee, FL 33538. It will be an informal open house with plans available for review and project staff present to address questions. The meeting will end at   7 p.m.

Titusville to Edgewater Bike Loop
 
Volusia County - The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is conducting a Public Information Meeting for the Titusville to Edgewater Bike Loop PD&E study. The proposed bike route is intended to provide a loop connection between existing and proposed trail heads in Titusville and Edgewater. At this meeting we will present the recommended design alternative for the portion of the bike route that falls within Volusia County. In Volusia, the proposed route starts on US 1 at Kennedy Parkway and continues on US 1 to Park Avenue. It then heads west on Park Avenue to end at Dale Avenue. Users of the proposed bike route will be able to connect to the East Central Regional Rail Trail (ECRRT) at Dale Avenue.
 
The meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 23rd at the Edgewater Community Center located at 104 North Riverside Drive in Edgewater, FL. It will be an open house from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a short presentation at 5:30 p.m. Participants may review project information, watch a project presentation, and discuss the project with FDOT staff at any time during the meeting.

Public Meeting – SR 50 Realignment in Groveland

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is holding a public meeting to present the design plans for the SR 50 realignment project in Groveland in Lake County.  The project limits are from County Road (CR) 565/Villa City Road to Brown Street.  The roadway improvement will re-align SR 50 to the north of downtown Groveland.  If the project is constructed, existing SR 50 will become the jurisdiction of the City of Groveland and will no longer be part of the State road system.  Additional project information is included on the project website at www.grovelandSR50.com.
 
The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 30, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the E.L. Puryear Building located at 243 S. Public Hearing- SR 600 (US 17-92) PD&E Study

State Road (SR) 600 (US 17-92) Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study

Osceola County- The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District Five, is holding a public hearing for the SR 600 (US 17-92) PD&E Study. The project limits are from west of Poinciana Boulevard to CR 535/Ham Brown Road, a distance of approximately 2.2 miles. We will present the proposed access management plan and the recommended design for widening SR 600 (US 17-92) from 2-lanes to 4-lanes. Access management is the process used to plan the location, design and operation of driveways, median openings, and street connections.
 
The hearing is September 30, 2014 at 5:00 pm at the New Hope Bible Church located at 1730 Vintage Street, Kissimmee, Florida 34746. The hearing will begin with an open house from 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. followed by a formal presentation at 5:30 p.m. At the conclusion of the presentation, attendees who complete a speaker’s card will be given the opportunity to make an oral statement that will become part of the public hearing record.
 
 Persons wishing to submit written statements or other exhibits, in place of or in addition to oral statements, may do so at the hearing or by sending them to Mary McGehee, FDOT Project Manager, 719 S.
