Project Description: State Road (SR) 600/US 92/International Speedway Boulevard from Emmet Street to North Charles Street, Design Project
 
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is conducting a public meeting regarding the drainage improvement project along State Road (SR) 600/US 92/International Speedway Boulevard from Emmet Street to North Charles Street in Daytona Beach. The department is designing improvements to improve roadway safety, serve the community’s needs, and improve the quality of life for residents. The project will resolve the historical flooding issue at the intersection of SR 600 and Marion Street by constructing additional curb inlets and replacing the existing storm drain main with larger pipes. The project also includes milling and resurfacing and other miscellaneous drainage improvements. The project is currently funded for construction.
 
The public meeting will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2016, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Bethune-Cookman University, Center for Civic Engagement, 740 W. International Speedway Boulevard, Daytona Beach. The purpose of this meeting is to introduce the project and present the design to the public. The meeting is an open house where staff members will be available to discuss the project and answer questions. A brief looping presentation and other project information will be available throughout the evening.

State Road 200 Improvements public hearing Sept. 13

Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will have a public hearing about the plans to reconstruct and widen the segment of State Road (SR) 200 from north of the Citrus County Line to south of County Road (CR) 484 in Marion County. FDOT is proposing to widen the existing two lane roadway to four lanes, with the addition of a 40’ grass median. Further improvements include bridges for wildlife, pedestrian trail access and equestrians, and the installation of a wildlife fence on portions of FDOT right-of-way. The project is not yet funded for construction.
The public hearing will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at the Episcopal Church of the Advent, 11251 SW Highway 484, Dunnellon, FL 34432, between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. The hearing will begin as an open house at 5:00 p.m. with a formal presentation at 6:00 p.m. Staff members will be available to discuss the project and answer questions before and after the presentation.
Participants may provide verbal comments directly to a court reporter before and after the formal presentation. Written comments can be submitted at the hearing, sent by mail to Naziru Isaac, P.E., Florida Department of Transportation, District Five Roadway Design, M.S. #552, 719 South Woodland Boulevard, DeLand, FL 32720, or emailed to Naziru.Isaac@dot.state.fl.us, no later than September 23, 2016. The draft project documents will be available for public review from August 23, 2016 to September 23, 2016 at the Freedom Public Library, 5870 SW 95th Street, Ocala, FL 34476, Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation is conducting an Alternatives Public Meeting for the US 301 Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study. We will present design alternatives to widen US 301 (State Road 35) from a two-lane roadway to a four-lane roadway. The study limits extend from CR 470 E to State Road 44, a distance of approximately eight miles. We will also present several alternatives that realign US 301 south of the City of Coleman.

The meeting is Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at the Trinity Baptist Church – Fellowship Hall, located at 3305 E CR 468, Wildwood, FL 34785.  It will be an open house from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Attendees may watch a video presentation that will be running on a continuous loop, review study information, and discuss the design alternatives with the study team. This meeting provides interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the social, economic and environmental impacts of the proposed design alternatives. The information that will be presented at this meeting will also be available on the study website, www.us301sumter.com, on September 22, 2016.
