Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, is holding an online public information meeting regarding design improvements to Interstate 75 (I-75) from the Charlotte County Line to south of Toledo Blade Boulevard in Sarasota County. The purpose of the online public meeting is to provide citizens the opportunity to comment on upgrading the existing-four lane divided roadway to a six-lane divided roadway. The project includes roadway improvements and the widening of I-75 bridges over Raintree Boulevard, Yorkshire Street, and the Newcastle Waterway. Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is hosting an open house for the upcoming State Road (SR) 17/Scenic Highway construction project in Lake Wales extending 3.5 miles from south of Ray Martin Road to south of Mountain Lake Cut off Road. Work also includes shoulder and traffic signal improvements, installation of signs, guardrail and sidewalk, and drainage improvements between Seminole Avenue and Osceola Avenue from SR 17 to North 1st Street, along the Florida Midland Railroad right of way. US 41 Venice By-Pass (SR 45A) from Center Rd to Bird Bay Drive West

Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a public information meeting regarding US 41 By-Pass from Center Road to Gulf Coast Blvd. and from Gulf Coast Blvd. to Bird Bay Drive West.  The meeting is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at the Venice Community Center, 326 Nokomis Avenue South, Venice, Florida.
 
The US 41 By-Pass roadway project in Sarasota County begins at Center Road (Mile Post 0.443) and extends northward to Bird Bay Drive West (Mile Post 2.766).  The exisiting roadway consists of 2.333 miles of four-lane roadway and one bridge culvert.  The project will upgrade US 41 By-Pass by reconstructing the four lanes and adding two lanes to make it a six-lane section.  The project will consist of two separate construction contracts.  FDOT will construct the north section from Gulf Coast Blvd. to Bird Bay Drive West first.  Currently there is no funding for construction of the south section from Center Road to Gulf Coast Blvd.
 
This meeting is to inform the public about the project's progress.  The meeting will be conducted as an open house and participants are welcome to come anytime between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.  Aerial maps,  plans, and other documents pertaining to the US 41 By-Pass roadway project will be available for review and FDOT representatives will be available during the meeting to discuss the project or answer questions.  FDOT welcomes written comments at the public information meeting and by mail.
