Public Hearing for SR 951 from Manatee Road to north of Tower Road

Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, is hosting a public hearing, as part of the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study to widen about one mile of roadway on Collier Boulevard (SR 951) from south of Manatee Road to north of Tower Road in Collier County.
 
The public hearing will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Rookery Bay Environmental Learning Center, 300 Tower Road, Naples, FL 34113. An open house begins at 5 p.m. where people can view the proposed project plans, ask questions, and provide comments to FDOT representatives.
 
The formal hearing begins at 6 p.m.
 
This hearing offers people the opportunity to express their views about the location, conceptual design, and social, economic, and environmental effects of widening Collier Boulevard (SR 951) to six lanes within the study limits. The hearing moderator will offer introductory remarks followed by a video describing the proposed widening project. An intermission will follow when people can register to make oral comments, which will be received after the intermission. Written comments also will be accepted.   
 
Draft study documents, and other pertinent information depicting the project’s recommended alignment and proposed improvements will be available for review during regular business hours from Thursday, May 25, 2017 to Monday, June 26, 2017, at the locations listed below and on the project website, www.swflroads.com/sr951/manateetotower

FDOT sent notices of the public hearing to property owners and tenants located within 300 feet, from either side of Collier Boulevard (SR 951), within the study limits.
Encroachments on wetlands and floodplains have been identified and may be given special consideration under Executive Orders 11990 and 11988, Protection of Wetlands and Floodplain Management, respectively.

Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, is holding a public hearing for the proposed improvements to the I-75 interchange at Colonial Boulevard, and on Colonial Boulevard from west of Ortiz Avenue/Six Mile Cypress Parkway to east of Dynasty Drive, in Lee County.
 
The public hearing will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the Gulf Coast Church of Christ, 9550 Six Mile Cypress Parkway, Fort Myers in Lee County.
 
The public hearing will begin as an open house at 5 p.m., with a formal presentation at 6 p.m., followed by a public comment period.  The department encourages all interested people to attend the meeting to express their views about the location; conceptual design; social, economic, and environmental effects of the proposed improvements.
 
The proposed improvements include the reconfiguration of the I-75 interchange at Colonial Boulevard, and improvements at the intersections of Colonial Boulevard at Ortiz Avenue/Six Mile Cypress Parkway, and at Forum Boulevard. The proposed improvements will enhance access to I-75, as well as help to alleviate traffic congestion, improve safety, and facilitate emergency evacuation.
 
FDOT representatives will be present to answer questions prior to and following the formal portion of the hearing.
