Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) invites you to attend a public hearing concerning the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) study to State Road (S.R.) 87 South at S.R. 10 (U.S. 90) to S.R. 87 North in Santa Rosa County.  The hearing will be held Thursday, November 13, 2014 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. CST, at the First Assembly of God Gymnasium, 6163 Dogwood Drive, Milton.  There will be an open house from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., followed by a formal presentation at 6 p.m.
 
This hearing is being held to provide the public with the analysis findings and to gather public input on the two remaining alternatives.  The alternative that will move forward into design will be selected based on the analysis and public comments received.
 
Persons wishing to submit written statements or other exhibits, in place of, or in addition to, oral statements, may do so at the hearing or by sending them to Peggy Kelley, FDOT Project Manager, 1074 Highway 90, Chipley, FL 32428.  All exhibits or statements postmarked on or before November 23, 2014 will become part of the public hearing record.  Representatives from FDOT will also be available at the hearing to answer questions and receive comments. 
 
The draft environmental and engineering documents developed for the department will be available for public review weekdays from October 23 to November 13, 2014 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Santa Rosa County Engineering Department, 6051 Old Bagdad Highway, Suite 300, Milton and the FDOT Milton Operations Office, 6052 Old Bagdad Highway, Milton.

State Road (S.R.) 390 Public Information Meeting

Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) invites you to attend a public information meeting concerning proposed improvements to State Road (S.R.) 390 from Jenks Avenue to east of S.R. 77 in Bay County ( Financial Project Identification Number: 217875-4-52-01).
 
The intent of this project is to increase the vehicular capacity of the corridor as well as accommodate bicycle and pedestrian traffic.  Improvements include widening 1.5 miles of the existing roadway from two to six lanes while adding buffered bicycle lanes, water quality and treatment facilities, and a closed drainage system.  The widening of County Road (C.R.) 390 east of S.R. 77 will facilitate the transition to the existing two-lane roadway.  A new pedestrian overpass will be built above the six-lane roadway at Mowat Middle School.  Traffic signal modifications will be made at the existing signalized intersections with a new signal installed at S.R. 390 and 14th Street/Virginia Avenue.  The project is funded for right-of-way acquisition and construction. 
 
Maps, drawings, and other information will be on display.  There will be no formal presentation; however, representatives from FDOT will be available to discuss proposed improvements, answer questions, and receive comments.

Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host a Public Grant Workshop.
 
The FDOT is soliciting applications for Federal Transit Administration’s Sections 5310 and 5311 operating and capital grant programs and Section 5339 non urbanized grants. This  workshop is being held to discuss the following topics for interested applicants:
• Updates on new federal laws affecting surface transportation programs
• Application eligibility requirements
• Preparation of the application and tips on grant writing
• Review of the process once a grant is awarded
• The Department’s vehicle procurement process
• Review of charter services

Companies or groups that provide mobility transit which includes private, for-profit, non-profit, local governments and taxi companies are eligible to apply.  Agency grant writers, presidents, administrators and transportation managers are encouraged to attend the workshop, application manuals and handouts will be provided at the workshop. Note, to comply with security measures, when attending meetings at the FDOT complex, bring photo identification and enter at the Administration Building.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) invites you or a member of your staff to attend a public information meeting concerning vehicle, pedestrian, and bicyclist safety assesment study along State Road (SR) 30 (US 98) from the Marler Bridge to Indian Bayou Trail in Okaloosa County. The meeting will be held Tuesday, November 18, 2014 from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. CST at the Destin City Hall Annex, 4100 Indan Bayou Trail, Destin.
 
Safety is a key concern along this corridor and is currently being assesed with regard to vulnerable road users indentified as pedestrians and bicyclist. Existing safety, accesibility and lighting features vary along the route. Those in attendance will have an opportunity to discuss existing conditions and provide comments. Maps, drawings, and other information will be on display. FDOT represenatives will be available to discuss proposed improvements, answer questiong and receive comments.
