Public Information Meeting: NW 19th St from SR 7 to SR845/Powerline Rd
District: Four
Meeting Type: Meeting
Date: Tuesday, March 28, 2017
Time: 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm
Location Name: Mills Pond Park
Street Address: 2201 NW 9th Street
City: Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311
Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is hosting a public information meeting to present proposed improvements regarding bike lanes and rehabilitation for NW 19th Street from SR 7 to SR 845/Powerline Road. The project’s primary objective is to provide continuous dedicated bike lanes on both sides of NW 19th Street between SR 7 and Powerline Road. From SR 7 to NW 29th Avenue and from NW 24th Avenue to NW 15th Avenue, 4-foot-wide bike lanes will be provided by reducing the width of the traffic lanes; existing 12-foot-wide lanes will be reduced to 10-foot-wide via pavement milling, resurfacing, restriping, and isolated widening. From 29th Avenue to NW 24th Avenue and from NW 15th Avenue to Powerline Road, 5-foot-wide bike lanes with 3-foot-wide buffers will be provided by converting the outside traffic lane to a buffered bike lane through pavement milling, resurfacing, and restriping. In addition, this project will also retrofit a number of existing curb ramps to meet current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements, upgrade bicycle signing and pavement markings, and install new pedestrian countdown signals at all signalized intersections.

Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability or family status.
