95 Express Phase 3C Industry Forum

Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Four is hosting this Industry Forum for Design/Build teams that are interested in pursuing the 95 Express Phase 3C Design-Build project in Fort Lauderdale.
 
95 Express Phase 3C includes a direct connection between northbound and southbound 95 Express lanes and I-595 general use lanes, to and from the west. The limits of this project are from Stirling Road to south of Broward Blvd on I-95 and along I-595 from SR 7/US 441/Turnpike Interchange to I-95.  Phase 3C will begin construction in 2019.

We anticipate a high attendance for this event, so we ask that you take the time to register. Design-Build Teams pursuing the 95 Express Phase 3C Design Build project can request one-on-one meetings with the District Four Management Team and also with the Technical Review Committee (TRC) by checking the box in the registration form on the website. At a minimum, a Design-Build Team constitutes a Lead Contractor and an Engineer of Record. The one-on-one meetings will be held on April 25th, 26th, and 27th at FDOT District Four Office at 3400 West Commercial Blvd, Fort Lauderdale FL 33309. You will receive a call from our public information team to schedule the meeting once your registration information is entered on the website.

Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District Four, will conduct a Pond Siting Meeting for the I-95 at Boynton Beach Boulevard and Gateway Boulevard PD&E Study.  A Pond Siting Meeting for PD&E Study is the process followed by FDOT to evaluate social, economic, and environmental impacts associated with a planned transportation improvement project.
 
No formal presentation will be made. This is a working meeting to discuss and assign scores for factors that will be used to score potential off-site pond locations. Scores will be determined by the FDOT Pond Siting Team.

I-95 Resurfacing Project Open House

Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host an informational Open House for the I-95 resurfacing project from south of Indiantown Road (State Road 706) in the Town of Jupiter to north of Bridge Road (County Road 708) in Martin County.

The Open House will be held from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the Project Field Office, 860 Jupiter Park Drive, Suite 2, Jupiter, FL 33458. Project personnel will be on hand to discuss the scope of work, construction schedule, and address questions and comments one-on-one. No formal presentation will be made.

This 9.838-mile project is expected to begin May 9, 2017, and is anticipated to be completed by summer 2019, weather permitting. The cost for construction is $17,184,516.93, and FDOT & The Corradino group will be overseeing the project. Community Asphalt Corporation is the contractor on this project.

Scope of Work:
Resurfacing I-95 mainline from south of Indiantown Road (SR 706) to north of Bridge Road (CR 708) and I-95 interchange ramps at Indiantown Road (Exit 87) and Bridge Road (Exit 96).
Minor shoulder and guardrail repairs.
Replacement of the southbound bridge approach slab at
approximate mile marker 89.5.

Public Workshop on Mobility Improvements in Pembroke Pines and Hollywood

Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Four will conduct a public workshop on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the South Regional / Broward County Library, 7300 Pines Blvd., Pembroke Pines, FL 33025, regarding mobility improvements along:
  • Pines Boulevard (State Road 820) from SW 209th Avenue to SW 118th Avenue (City of Pembroke Pines)
  • Flamingo Road (State Road 823) from Pembroke Road to NW 4th Street (City of Pembroke Pines)
  • Hollywood Boulevard (State Road 820) from Academy Circle to Calle Largo Drive (City of Hollywood)

The workshop will have an open house format and project representatives will be available to answer questions and provide assistance at any time during the workshop. Please drop by at your convenience.

On Pines Boulevard and Flamingo Road, the project will include ADA pedestrian ramps at intersections, crosswalk upgrades supporting the pedestrian improvements, resurfacing the existing roadway, drainage improvements related with minor widening, the extension length of turn lane movements, and minor lighting and pedestrian signal pushbutton upgrades. On Hollywood Boulevard, the project will add bike lanes on both eastbound and westbound sides by widening, resurfacing and restriping the existing roadway adjacent to the bike lanes, ADA pedestrian ramps and crosswalks impacted by the bike lane addition and improvements to bus stops where impacted by the contractor.

Construction is scheduled to begin in summer 2018 and completion is expected in winter 2019. The estimated construction cost of the project is $2.1 million.
