Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is conducting this Public Hearing to discuss proposed improvements for State Road 5/US 1 from Sample Road to the Palm Beach County Line in the Lighthouse Point, Pompano Beach and Deerfield Beach area.
 
The hearing will begin as an informal open house at 5:30 PM
A formal presentation will be made at 6 PM
A public comment period will follow the presentation
 
Design plans and project information will be available for public viewing throughout the hearing.
 
Proposed improvements include:
  • Modifying the median to provide 5-foot wide bike lanes
  • Replacing traffic signals at the US 1 and NE 2 Street/Eller Street intersection
  • Adding street lighting at the US 1 and NE 2 Street/Eller Street intersection
  • Modifying the existing median opening at NE 41 Street/Vintage Drive to allow only left turns into the side street
  • Reconstructing curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards
  • Removing old asphalt and resurfacing existing pavement
 
Construction of the improvements is scheduled to begin in August 2019 with anticipated completion in August 2020. The estimated construction cost of these improvements is $6.5 million.
 
This project is a partnership between FDOT, the Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and the affected cities. The MPO is investing over $300 million to create safer, healthier communities in Broward County. This project is one of many within a larger plan to create enhanced bicycle, pedestrian, and public transportation access. The Broward MPO is a federally-mandated agency that is responsible for making decisions on local transportation issues and prioritizing how to spend federal funds on transportation projects.

Design Open House I-95/Copans Road Interchange Improvements

Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is holding this open house to discuss proposed improvements to be made to the I-95/Copans Road interchange in Pompano Beach.
 
No formal presentation will be made during the Open House. Design plans and project information will be on display. Staff will be available to discuss the project, answer questions and address individual concerns.
 
Project improvements include:
  • Combining the two northbound entrance ramps into a single entrance ramp physically separated from the I-95 mainline traffic
  • Combining the two southbound entrance ramps into a single entrance ramp physically separated from the I-95 mainline traffic
  • Adding bicycle lanes on Copan Road through the interchange 

Construction of the improvements is expected to begin in Summer 2020 with anticipated completion in Summer 2022. The estimated construction cost is $17.6 million.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is conducting this Public Hearing to discuss proposed improvements to State Road 710 (SR 710)/Bee Line Highway from Northlake Boulevard to State Road 708 (SR 708)/Blue Heron Boulevard in Palm Beach Gardens.
 
The hearing will begin as an informal open house at 6 PM
A formal presentation will begin at 6:30 PM followed by a public comment period
 
Design plans and project information will be available for public viewing throughout the hearing.

The proposed improvements include:
  • Reconstructing SR 710 from four lanes to a six lane, divided roadway
  • Constructing a new at-grade Continuous Flow Intersection (CFI) at the intersection of SR 710 and Northlake Boulevard
  • Upgrading highway lighting and traffic signals on SR 710 from Northlake Boulevard to Blue Heron Boulevard
  • Creating minor traffic shifts through the intersection on Northlake Boulevard.
 
Construction of these improvements is scheduled to begin in Fall 2021 with anticipated completion in Fall 2024. The estimated construction cost of these improvements is $106.5 million.
