Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT)is holding this meeting to inform the public about the  kick-off of a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study for I-95 from south of Hallandale Beach Boulevard to north of Hollywood Boulevard in Broward County. 
 
A PD&E Study is FDOT's process to evaluate the social, economic and environmental impacts associated with a planned transportation improvement project. The purpose of this project is to consider future improvements to capacity, safety, mobility, emergency evacuation and reduce congestion within the study limits.
 
Agenda:
  • The meeting will begin as an informal, open house at 5:30 p.m.
  • A formal presentation will begin at 6 p.m.
  • Project drawings and other pertinent information will be available for public review.
  • Staff will be available throughout the meeting to discuss the study and answer questions.
The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by FDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 14, 2016 and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and FDOT.

SR 834/Sample Road Bus Queue Jump Project Public Workshop

Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is holding this Public Information Workshop to inform the community about the proposed project to install Bus Queue Jump Signals along Sample Road in north Broward County at NW 62nd Avenue/Turtle Creek Drive (eastbound and westbound), NW 54th Avenue (eastbound only) and SR 845/Powerline Road (eastbound and westbound).
 
This project will help improve the travel time reliability for Broward County Transit Route 34 buses. The Bus Queue Jump Signals will provide better on-time performance and accommodate future growth in transit demand.
 
What is a Bus Queue Jump Signal? When a Route 34 bus approaches an intersection with a Bus Queue Jump Signal, the bus will utilize the existing right turn lane to pull ahead of stopped traffic, allowing the bus to proceed through the intersection.
